Gym jobs
If you are interested in gym careers, there are plenty of options, with jobs available at gyms, health clubs and leisure centres all over the UK.
Gym careers typically involve working with groups and individuals to help them exercise safely and effectively - this can involve working on weights equipment, teaching classes such as circuit training, aerobics or spinning, providing induction sessions for new members, and, for personal trainers, designing individual workout programs.
Opportunities can be found working through a gym or health club, or on a self-employed basis. Depending on qualifications, role, and experience, salaries vary quite widely. A newly qualified trainer working at a health club can expect to earn around £11-12,000 a year, more experienced professionals will earn £20,000 or more. Finally, those who are self-employed earn anything from ?10 to £50 an hour depending on their skills and experience.
